wonderful tour to experience the different
expects of South Africa. In this tour you
will experience different landscapes,
exciting safaris, beautiful coastlines,
breathtaking mountains and popular towns.
Regions you visit are the Karoo, also called
semi-dessert, coastal towns and the Garden
Route with its breathtaking Tsitsikamma
Forest. The tour is seven days and starts
and ends in Port Elizabeth, but adjustments
can be made and you can also end in Cape
Town

10 DAYS KAROO TO COASTAL
SAFARI SELF DRIVE TOUR
Day
1: Addo
You
start your trip from Port Elizabeth and drive in the
morning to the Addo Elephant Park. Addo is one of the
most popular parks in the East Cape. You can drive with
your own vehicle through the park and will mainly look
for Elephants and Buffalos and some antelope species. In
the afternoon you head to Schotia Private Game Reserve,
where we board a safari vehicle and look for rhino,
lions, hippo’s, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest and lots
more. A traditional dinner is included and overnight in
on the reserve.
Day 2: Kenton on Sea
From
Schotia you take a beautiful scenic route along the
coast towards Kenton on Sea. At Kenton on Sea you visit
another Game Reserve. This will be a total different
experience starting with a beautiful river cruise, which
leads you to your accommodation. You sleep purely in the
bush in unique safari tents. Your meals and safari’s are
included.
Day 3: Grahamstown
From
Kenton on Sea you drive towards Port Alfred, where you
can spend some time on the beach and explore the town.
From Port Alfred you drive along an exciting route
towards Grahamstown. On your way you can visit the
biggest pineapple in the world, the oldes pub in South
Africa and the toposcoop. Grahamstown is an interesting
town with lots of history. Overnight in Grahamstown.
Day 4: Karoo- Cradoc
In
the morning you go on a guided tour to the Valley of
Ancient Voices to find artifacts from the Bushman who
used to live there. From there you drive into the Karoo,
also called semi dessert and overnight in Cradock.
Day 5: Graaff Reinet
From
Cradock you drive towards Graaff Reinet. Graaff Reinet
is a typical Karoo Village with a beautiful church in
the centre. Apart from the church does Graaff Reinet
have several other historical buildings. But Graaff
Reinet is really known for the impressive Valley of
Desolation., with its beautiful rock formations.
Overnight is in Graaff Reinet.
Day 6: Beaufort West
Today
you drive the long straight roads of the Karoo to
Beaufort West, where we overnight in a beautiful spot to
experience this part of South Africa. You can book an
optional game drive if you like. Overnight is in
Beaufort West.
Day 7: Oudtshoorn
From
Beaufort West you leave to Oudtshoon. Oudtshoorn is
famous for the Ostrich Industry and history. You can
visit one of the interesting Ostrich Farms and the world
famous Cango Caves. Overnight in Oudtshoorn.
Day 8: Knysna
From
Oudtshoorn you visit the Garden Route, which is one of
the most popular routes in South Africa. You fist take
the impressive Outeniqua Pass and end up in the capital
of the Garden Route, called George. From George you
drive through the beautiful natural wilderness area to
Knysna. In Knysna you can take a lagoon cruise towards
the famous Heads of Knysna. Continuing you drive to
Buffalo Hils Game Reserve for our overnight and Game
Drive.
Day 9: Tsitsikamma
After
your morning walk and breakfast you head to Tsitsikamma
with an optional visit to Monkeyland on your way.
Monkeyland is a sanctuary, where a professional guide
leads you through the woods looking for all kind of
monkeys. After monkeyland you can visit the Tsitsikamma
National Park, which is renowned for its dramatic coast
line. In the park are several hiking trail from which
one is to the hangbridge over the stormsriver mouth.
Overnight is in Tsitsikamma (for optional route
ending in Cape Town, overnight in Mosselbay skip
Tsitsikamma National Park)
Day 10: Port Elizabeth (for optional route drive to
Cape Town)
You
leave in the morning and take a scenic drive to Port
Elizabeth visiting the big tree and Jeffreys Bay on its
way. Your tour ends in Port Elizabeth.
