Witsand Getaway

In general:

Visit this beautiful area, well known for its white roaring sand-dunes of the Green Kalahari. White sand is a relative small nature area with approximately 3500 ha and an oasis of rest. Besides approximately 150 different bird species and many springboks you can enjoy the rest of the animals.

Hike the white “roaring sand” dunes, a unique experience. You will hear the sand “roar” as soon as you move. You can relax at the swimming pool or walk for a while. There is a special bird watching point for the bird lovers.

Relaxing is a way of life here. There is a little shop were you can get the basic needs, but for petrol you will have to drive 100 kilometers to the closets village.

Squirrels and monkeys gather their food together. Let yourself spoil at the camp fire with a lovely dinner or braai. You will now have plenty of time to relax and enjoy the hospitality from this part of the Kalahari. Accommodation for 1 night is possible, but because of the far distance we recommend staying for 2 nights.

Accommodation:

The accommodation exists of several, distant bungalows with thatch roofs. All bedrooms (three per bungalow) have got an own door to the outside and all accommodations (except for the bathroom and toilet) have got air conditioning.
The living room has got a large open kitchen and a large living room with enough seats. There are also chairs for the outside available. Outside you will find a large porch, braai (barbeque) and dining table with seats on both sides.
